Listed below are events planned for 2025. Dates and venues confirmed.
1, Assessor CPD Event, Followed by an AAPGAI Members fun Day 2nd & 3rd of May 2025.
As part of our ongoing CPD program for AAPGAI assessors, we will once again be holding an assessor training day on the Dilston beat of the River Tyne, near Hexham, in May 2025. This will be a two-day event, with day one reserved for assessor training, and day two open to all members to come along for a fun day, either to have a cast, tie some flies, or simply catch up with friends.
This event is free to all AAPGAI members, all we ask is that you bring along a packed lunch, and something to drink. There’s plenty of room on the beat for everyone.
If you plan to come along, and you wish to stay over, either on the Friday evening (2nd May) prior to the members day, or the Saturday evening (3rd May) following the members day, we will be staying at the Travelodge in Hexham, so please book your place now and let us know you are coming. 2. Spring Assessments & Open Day Event, River Derwent (Nr Cockermouth) – 15th to 17th May 2025
This year sees AAPGAI returning to the Cockermouth venue on the river Derwent and the structure of the event will be as follows:
Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th May will be set aside for Assessments, the open day will be Saturday the 17th of May, followed by our GALA dinner and presentation evening, to be held at the Trout Hotel in Cockermouth.
For those wishing to arrange accommodation for this event, there are several options in the area, including a Travelodge and a Premiere Inn, both situated on the outskirts of Cockermouth itself with only a 10-minute walk into town

3. Autumn Assessments and Open Day, Builth Wells – 23rd -26th October 2025
Our AAPGAI autumn assessment and open day event will be held again in Builth Wells in October 2025. Assessments are planned for the 23rd and 24th of October 2025, with our open day being Saturday the 25th. Our AGM, (members only) will be held on the 26th of October 2025. It would be great to see you there!
