Since its formation in 2003 AAPGAI has been proud to support many local, regional and national angling club meetings, exhibitions, game fairs and country shows. These are part of the countryside community’s life blood and draw like-minded people from both rural and urban environments together to enjoy their shared interests in a vibrant and feel-good atmosphere.
For well over a decade, thousands of visitors to such events have enjoyed professional, fully-equipped, safe and enjoyable casting tuition with AAPGAI – whether as beginners looking to learn the basics, more experienced anglers keen to develop their skills further, or even just to ‘give it a go’ as part of a fun day out with family or friends. Many have since come back to us for further tuition and guiding – some of whom are now qualified instructors themselves! Our highly-experienced members also offer interesting, entertaining and useful show demonstrations on a variety of single and double-handed casting, fishing and fly-dressing themes.
AAPGAI also offers two public open days of its own each year at carefully-selected, scenic venues with good access to water and other key facilities. These are invaluable opportunities for fly fishers of all ability levels to come along, meet the instructors, see a number of varied demonstrations and presentations by both members and guests, and benefit from one-to-one tuition. There’s refreshments and a delicious lunch to be enjoyed along the way, too!
