Planned AAPGAI Events 2024

Listed below are events provisionally planned for 2023. Dates and venues still to be confirmed.

1. Spring Assessments & Open Day Event, Milton of Crathes – 2nd to 5th May 2024

Please be advised that there will be a change of venue for the 2024 spring assessment event. This has now been confirmed at a recent committee meeting and discussed at the recent AGM.

AAPGAI have been kindly offered the use of the River Dee at The Milton of Crathes Complex,
Crathes, Banchory, Post Code: AB31 5QH; by Al and Will Peake, two of our full members. This will give AAPGAI the opportunity to offer assessments in a new area of Scotland, but we
are aware that members will need to know dates in advance to arrange holidays etc, so here are the dates for the next assessment event.

The dates for this event will be Thursday the 2nd to Sunday the 5th of May 2024. Assessments will be held on Thursday and Friday, the 2nd and 3rd of May, the open day will be Saturday the 4th of May, leaving on Sunday the 5th of May.

We are currently looking into accommodation options for this event and will send out this information as soon as it becomes available. All updates will also be displayed on the AAPGAI website a.s.a.p., and future newsletters.

We already have several candidates for assessments at this event, so if you have given some thought to taking an AAPGAI assessment, then please contact our secretary Peter Hastings on [email protected] to book your place and avoid disappointment. We look forward to seeing another good turn out on the open day!

2. Members Bass Fishing Event – June 2024

After another successful trip in 2023, Dave Mathews is again organising another Bass and Mullet fishing event at Bideford in North Devon. See Members section for details.

3. Autumn Assessments and Open Day, Builth Wells – 24th -27th October 2024

This brings us full circle to the final event of our 2024 calendar, i.e. our end of year assessment and open day event in Builth Wells. Provisional dates are the 24th to 27th October 2024 with the venue to be confirmed. If you would like to book in for assessment at this event, or simply require further information, please contact our Secretary Peter Hastings at: [email protected], alternatively, if you wish to book your place on the open day, to enjoy the demonstrations and see what AAPGAI is all about, then please contact our Treasurer Lee Gallant at [email protected] or for further information contact our Chairman Clive Mitchelhill at [email protected]

Assessments are planned for the 24th and the 25th October 2024, and the open day will be on Saturday the 26th October 2024, and the AGM on the 27th October 2024. Once again it would be great to see you there!
