Thursday the 14th and Friday the 15th May 2026 will be set aside for Assessments, and the open day will be Saturday the 16th of May, followed by our GALA dinner and presentation evening, to be held at the Kingsknowes Hotel in Galashiels. We already have several candidates for assessments at this event, so if you have given some thought to taking an AAPGAI assessment, then please contact our secretary Ed Thomson on: [email protected] to book your place and avoid disappointment. We look forward to seeing another good turnout!
As part of our ongoing CPD program for AAPGAI Assessors, we will once again be holding an assessor training day on the Dilston beat of the river Tyne, near Hexham, in June 2026. This will be a two day event, and both days are open to all members of the association to come along and enjoy some fly tying, casting, and fishing with like minded friends.
This event is free to all AAPGAI members, all we ask is that you bring along a packed lunch, and something to drink. There’s plenty of room on the beat for everyone.
If you are planning to come along and you wish to stay over for one or more nights, we will be staying in the Travelodge in Hexham, so please book your own accommodation, but let our events officer (Brian Towers) know you are coming so he can collate numbers. Contact Brian on: [email protected]. Any questions please contact our membership secretary (Clive Mitchelhill) on: [email protected]. It would be great to see you there.
