News and Events
In view of the Covid-19 situation to date and the gradual easing of ‘lockdown’ restrictions, we’re pleased to confirm that our autumn assessments for new and existing AAPGAI members will be going ahead – but under different and appropriately-responsible arrangements.
Two separate assessment weekends will be taking place: one on the River Derwent near Cockermouth, Cumbria, England (Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October) and the other at our usual autumn venue, the River Wye at Builth Wells, Powys, Wales (Saturday 24 October). Unfortunately there will be no members’ day or public open day during either weekend this year; however we very much hope to resume ‘normal service’ in these respects come spring 2021!
We already have several candidates booked in for autumn; however those who have not yet applied and who are ready for the challenge are warmly invited to do so by contacting the AAPGAI secretary, Illtyd Griffiths, or the treasurer, Lee Gallant. Further information regarding the format and timings of assessments will be provided to candidates on receipt of their application.
Tight lines to all those who are preparing for their October assessments and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to welcoming you to the Derwent and the Wye in the autumn!
